About the Power Force Presidential Metering Initiative 2026
The Power Force Presidential Metering Initiative (PMI) is a Federal Government programme designed to bridge the skills gap in smart meter installation while creating employment opportunities for Nigerian youths. The initiative supports the nationwide deployment of prepaid electricity meters to reduce estimated billing, improve transparency in electricity charges, and strengthen service delivery across the country.
Successful applicants will undergo technical training at designated NAPTIN centres and receive certification from the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA), preparing them for employment opportunities in Nigeria’s power sector.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a Nigerian citizen between 18 and 35 years of age.
- Possess a minimum of SSCE or its equivalent.
- Have a science or technical education background.
- Possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
- Be physically and mentally fit for technical training and field activities.
- Be willing to learn and work in the power sector.
- No previous meter installation experience is required.
Note: NYSC members and students of Technical and Vocational institutions may have an added advantage during the selection process.
