Recruitment Requirements
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Be a Nigerian citizen by birth and not hold dual citizenship.
- Possess SSCE or equivalent with at least four passes, including English Language.
- Have a relevant masonry certificate or proven experience in masonry work.
- Be between 18 and 28 years by December 31, 2026.
- Have a WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result that meets the required validity period.
- Provide a valid email address and National Identification Number (NIN).
- Be unmarried, not pregnant and not nursing.
- Have no previous criminal conviction.
- Meet the Nigerian Navy’s medical and physical requirements.
- Have a minimum height of 1.68 metres for males and 1.65 metres for females.

Accepted qualifications include WAEC, GCE, NECO, NABTEB, City and Guilds, OND and equivalent qualifications. Candidates must also produce their primary school leaving certificate during the selection interview.

They should also prepare their birth certificate or age declaration, educational credentials, First School Leaving Certificate or testimonial and relevant masonry certificate or evidence of experience.
Candidates must bring the required WAEC, GCE, NECO or NABTEB scratch cards to the recruitment centres.
Nigerian Navy Aptitude Test
The Nigerian Navy Recruitment Aptitude Test will take place on November 21, 2026. The Nigerian Navy will announce the examination venues in due course.
Successful candidates will undergo basic military training. After completing the training, they will be enlisted into the Nigerian Navy as Ordinary Seamen.
