University Librarian
The University Librarian will serve as a Principal Officer of FUTB and will be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the effective management and coordination of university library services.
The successful candidate will provide leadership for the University’s library operations while supporting research, academic activities and institutional development.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants should:
- Possess a PhD in Library Science or Library and Information Science.
- Have at least 15 years of relevant experience.
- Be at least a Deputy Librarian or Associate Professor in a recognised university.
- Have relevant experience in a university library.
- Possess an NYSC Discharge, Exemption or Exclusion Certificate.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and resource management skills.
- Be registered with the Library Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN).
- Have scholarly publications in reputable journals.
- Demonstrate research, professional and administrative experience.
- Be not more than 65 years old at the time of appointment.
The appointment is for a single five-year term, subject to the applicable conditions of service in the Nigerian University System.
