Bursar
The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the university and a Principal Officer. The successful candidate will oversee financial management, planning, reporting and record-keeping at FUTB.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the development and review of financial management plans.
- Coordinating periodic income and expenditure statements.
- Preparing balance sheets and cash flow estimates.
- Ensuring accurate records of university assets and liabilities.
- Monitoring monthly income, expenditure and budget variances.
- Advising university management on financial transactions.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants should:
- Possess at least a Second Class Honours Degree in Accountancy from a recognised university.
- Be a qualified member of ICAN, ACCA, ANAN or another recognised professional accounting body.
- Have at least 15 years of relevant experience.
- Have at least 10 years of experience in the university system.
- Have attained the rank of Deputy Bursar in a university and served at managerial level.
- Be computer literate and familiar with relevant accounting software.
- Possess an NYSC Discharge, Exemption or Exclusion Certificate.
- Be not more than 60 years old at the time of appointment.
- Be in good health to perform the duties of the position.
The appointment is for a single five-year term. The salary and conditions of service are applicable to the position of Bursar in Nigerian Federal Universities.
