This is to inform all candidates who applied for admission into School of Health Information Management (SHIM), Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria for the 2026/2027 Academic Session, that the entrance examination, Post UTME and Screening is scheduled to hold on Monday 27th July, 2026.
Requirements and Eligibility
1. National Diploma
Applicants into the National Diploma (ND), Health Information Management (HIM) programme must:
- Have sat for the 2026 UTME and choose the ABUTH as their first choice and scored a Cut Off Mark of 140 and above.
- Possessed a minimum of 5 credit passes in the relevant subjects, at not more than two (2) sittings at the SSCE. The subjects must be English language, Mathematics Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
- Be atleast 16 years old by 30th September, 2026.
2. Pre-Higher National Diploma/Abridgement Programme:
- A candidate must have acquired a Professional Diploma certificate.
- A minimum of 5 credit passes in the relevant subjects, at not more than two (2) sittings at the SSCE. The subjects must be English language, Mathematics Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
NOTE:
- PRE-HND/Abridgement programme is one academic session (two semesters) upon completion, candidates must undergo one year post National Diploma Industrial Training (IT) for those with credit grade and two years for those with Pass grade.
- IJMB and NCE certificate holders are not eligible for this program.
3. Higher National Diploma
In addition, with the National Diploma requirements above, applicants with the following qualifications may be considered for admission into the Higher National Diploma programme:
- National Diploma (ND) Certificate in Health Information Management with a minimum of a Lower Credit.
- Evidence of completion of one year relevant work experience in an accredited health institution.
- Candidates with a Pass (GPA 2.00 – 2.49) at the ND level with two (2) or more years post-ND cognate work experience may be considered for admission into the HND program.
- Must have sat for Part I License.
- Evidence of JAMB admission
Entrance Examination Fee/Registration
- HND/PRE-HND Candidates are required to pay the sum of One Thousand Five Hundred Naira (N1,500.00) and Two Thousand Naira (N 2,000.00) for ND only as registration fee for the exercise.
- Payment can be made through Remita at www.remita.net then select Pay TSA & State; choose FGN; select AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY TEACHING HOSPITAL; choose school fees; Enter your details & Pay).

When is the ABUTH SHIM entrance examination and screening?
The entrance examination, Post-UTME and screening will hold on Monday 27th July, 2026, at the SHIM ABUTH CBT Centre, Tudun Wada, Zaria.
What is the UTME cut off mark for the ND programme?
The cut off mark for the National Diploma (ND) in Health Information Management must have scored 140 or above in the 2026JAMB UTME and must have selected ABUTH as their first choice.
