Recruitment Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a Nigerian citizen by birth and not hold dual citizenship.
- Possess SSCE or equivalent with at least five credits, including English Language, Mathematics and Physics.
- Be between 18 and 22 years by December 31, 2026.
- Have WAEC, NECO or NABTEB results that meet the specified validity period.
- Provide a valid email address and National Identification Number (NIN).
- Be unmarried, not pregnant and not nursing.
- Have no previous criminal conviction.
- Meet the Nigerian Navy’s medical and physical requirements.
- Have a minimum height of 1.68 metres for males and 1.65 metres for females.

Applicants must print and complete the Applicant’s Declaration Form, Parent or Guardian Consent Form, Local Government Area Certification Form, Police Certification Form and Guarantors Form.
Candidates should also prepare their birth certificate or age declaration, educational credentials, First School Leaving Certificate or testimonial and other required documents.
The Identification Form must receive the required endorsement from an authorised official. Candidates should also bring the relevant WAEC, GCE, NECO or NABTEB scratch cards to the recruitment centres.
Nigerian Navy Aptitude Test
The Nigerian Navy Recruitment Aptitude Test will take place on November 21, 2026. The Nigerian Navy will announce the examination venues in due course.
Successful candidates will undergo basic military training. After completing the training, they will be enlisted into the Nigerian Navy as Ordinary Seamen.
