Bandsman Recruitment Requirements

Applicants must meet the following conditions:

• Possess SSCE or equivalent with at least five credits, including English Language.
• Demonstrate proficiency in playing one or more musical instruments.
• Be a Nigerian citizen by birth and not hold dual citizenship.
• Be between 18 and 22 years for the applicable entry categories by December 31, 2026.
• Present WAEC, NECO or NABTEB results within the required validity period.
• Provide a valid email address and National Identification Number (NIN).
• Be unmarried, not pregnant and not nursing.
• Have no previous criminal conviction.
• Meet the required medical, physical and height standards.
• Have a minimum height of 1.68 metres for males and 1.65 metres for females.

Nigerian Navy Aptitude Test

The Nigerian Navy Recruitment Aptitude Test will take place on November 21, 2026. The Nigerian Navy will announce the examination venues in due course.

Successful candidates will undergo basic military training. After completing the training, they will be enlisted into the Nigerian Navy as Ordinary Seamen.
