Available Position

State Coordinator, Ebonyi

The State Coordinator will lead the day-to-day implementation of I-Youth 2.0 activities in Ebonyi State. The successful candidate will coordinate project activities, supervise the state project team and support youth agripreneurs through training, enterprise development and incubation programmes.

The role also involves working with government agencies, community institutions, private sector organisations and financial institutions to support effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

The State Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Leading I-Youth 2.0 activities in Ebonyi according to approved workplans, budgets and timelines.
  • Supervising technical officers and field or mobilisation staff.
  • Coordinating youth agripreneur recruitment, training, selection and progress tracking.
  • Overseeing the state-based Agribusiness Park or incubation hub where applicable.
  • Building relationships with government agencies, traditional institutions, communities, private organisations and financial institutions.
  • Managing monitoring and evaluation data and maintaining the network of trained I-Youth agripreneurs.
  • Managing state budgets and procurement in line with IITA and donor requirements.
  • Preparing narrative and financial reports for the Country Coordinator.
  • Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, ethics and other IITA policies.
  • Representing the project at relevant meetings and stakeholder engagements.
  • Performing other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Development Studies, Economics, Social Sciences or a related discipline.

Candidates must also have at least five years of relevant experience in programme or project implementation, including a minimum of two years in a supervisory or team leadership role.

The ideal candidate should also have:

  • Experience in youth employment, enterprise development, agribusiness, workforce development or agricultural extension.
  • Experience managing project budgets, workplans and donor-funded activities.
  • Experience working with state government institutions, communities and private sector partners.
  • Knowledge of the socio-economic and agricultural environment of Ebonyi State.
  • Strong programme coordination and team leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of youth employment, entrepreneurship and agribusiness development.
  • Good financial and operational management skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and community mobilisation abilities.
  • Good analytical, planning and reporting skills.
  • Strong integrity, professionalism and accountability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to communicate in the predominant local language of the assigned state.
