Senior Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Manager
The Senior Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Manager will lead monitoring, evaluation, research and learning activities for EIDU’s education programmes in Nigeria.
The role involves working closely with state and federal government education partners, supporting data-driven decision-making and measuring the impact of education interventions across participating states.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Develop and implement an M&E framework for EIDU’s Nigeria programmes.
- Define metrics, methodologies and data collection systems.
- Lead research and evaluation projects from planning through reporting.
- Manage government research engagement and M&E activities.
- Work with Nigerian state education ministries and agencies.
- Lead impact evaluations, including RCTs.
- Develop SOPs, tools and templates for data collection and reporting.
- Support partnerships with Nigerian and international funders.
- Coordinate research initiatives across different teams.
- Support the Director of Research and AI with decision-making and priority-setting in Nigeria.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants should have a Ph.D. or advanced degree in Social Sciences, Data Science, Education or a related field.
Candidates should also have:
- At least 6 years of M&E experience in international development, EdTech or education programmes.
- Experience working in Nigeria or similar low- and middle-income contexts.
- Proven experience developing and managing M&E frameworks.
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods.
- Experience conducting field research and evaluation studies, including RCTs.
- Strong statistical and analytical skills.
- Hands-on experience with STATA, R or Python.
- At least 2 years of experience managing communications and M&E activities with government entities.

- Ability to explain technical findings to non-technical audiences.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
